The Focal Point

Moments with My Father ~

Where we let our minds go in thought can greatly affect our attitudes, our perspectives in life and our words and our actions.  It can cause us to fret and worry or live with joy, peace and happiness.  Our Father understands this and He so desires for us to live lives free from worry.  The solution that He gives to worrry is to seek as our focal point, His Kingdom and His righteousness and He says He will take care of us.  I find that such a comforting thought this morning and am seeking Him as my focal point.  He brings my heart pure pleasure when my mind is stayed on Him. I am so thankful to have He, with my best interest at heart.  May you be filled with His peace this day as well.  Much love to you all ~

Well Fed

Moments with My Father ~

How delightful spring time is in Idaho and how exciting it is to see its progression from the cold dormancy of winter into the full vibrant life of summer!  Such a great welcoming!  My mind today envisions the scene that I see each spring from my office window as I look out into the tree branches there and observe the nests built there by the parent robin who has taken up residency there.  So faithfully, the parent robin provides just the right setting for its babies to be placed into and tends to them at each stage of their development and hatching into the world.  Once they have hatched, the babies are born blind as their eyes have not yet opened.  When they gain the understanding that when they are hungry, their parent will fill them with the food they need to still their hunger, you see the little birds chirping with their mouths opened up and faced upward as that is the position that enables them to receive their food.  Once the parent feeds them, they quiet down and are peaceful.  This picture in my mind is a beautiful imagery to me of my Father’s great caring for me when I am spiritually hungry for the spiritual food that He provides to me when I lift my voice up and turn to His heavenly presence to fill me, to satisfy my hunger so that I can be at peace in my life.  How great is His faithfulness to always meet my need!  His Word teaches us to “listen, listen to Him and eat what is good  and our souls will delight in the richest of fare.”  His spiritual blessings are indeed likened to a banquet of the finest of food.  He fills the hungry with good things!  He satisfies all my needs according to His glorious riches!  He gives me peace in a way that the world around me cannot give to me.  With all of this taken in, I’m a little birdie satisfied and content as He has once again fed me well this day.  “Oh, Father, how great is your faithfulness unto me.”

Blessings of our Father

Moments with My Father ~

It is a blessing and an honor to be my Father’s kid today.  My heart praises Him for all that He is.   As I reflect upon Him this morning, the Shakesphere line comes to my mind of how a love spoke to his love long ago.  Recognize the line “How do I love thee, let me count the ways.”  I agree with the Psalmist who had the same mindset as he thought about our Father and he counted these great reasons why he loved Him and gave Him praise with a heart that was glad and a tongue that rejoiced: 1)  He counseled him and instructed him.  2) He had confidence in always having Him set before him and at his right hand – “he was not shaken.” 3) He enabled His body to rest secure. 4)  He did not abandon his body to the grave, nor let him see decay. 4) He made known to him the path of life. 5) His presence with Him filled him with joy and 6) He provided him with eternal (never ending) pleasures at His right hand (with Him).   Oh, our Father is such a blessing in one’s life.  I lift up this praise to Him this morning with you and am so thankful He is in my life.

The Gentle Giant

Moments with My Father ~

I look out my window this morning into the beauty of another gorgeous spring day and I marvel at the power and the might of my Father.  How ever does He do what He does?  He moves Heaven and earth!  He creates each new day!  He controls all of nature!  He brings forth spring rains and lets the sun shine upon us.  He is the giver of all the life I see – the grass, the trees, the birds of the air, animals, human beings and He sustains us all moment by moment.  His power is such that all the gifts of my life here today could be gone in an instant, but He chooses to and promises the gift of life to me eternally with Him.  He never wants to see any of us fade away to nothing and be apart from Him.  That is why sin’s affects on the world concerned Him so much.  He did not want to lose any of us to the consequences of sin. That speaks to me that He cares for me and longs to have a relationship with little ’ole me and you.  How special is that!  He is a powerful giant, perfect in every way, holy and yet He is humble and gentle.  He cares for us, His kids, each personally and individually, not only in seeing that our physical needs are met, but He cares about our well being in heart.  This is what He, the high and lofty One says, He who lives forever and is holy:  “I live in a high  and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”  He is a God who desires to bring healing to us and see to it that we are well.  He who is perfect and holy, without sin, has seen that we all have our struggles with sin living in this world that hurts us and He sees us with compassion and mercy and rescues the humble in heart.  All have sinned and fall short of God’s holiness, but He so loved all of the people of the world that He Himself became flesh in Christ and died on a cross for all mankind’s sin so that those who have acknowledged or confessed their sin and their need for Christ’s sacrifice on the cross to save them from the wages of sin could be helped. When our all powerful God sees that humbleness of heart in a person, it just melts His heart and draws Him right into the midst of their heart where He dwells and longs to guide us and comfort us in life.  “Peace, peace” is His heart for us all.  He is so sweet and loving.  He is a gentle giant, our God.  I praise Him for His great kindnesses in caring so much for me this day.   Our all powerful Father loves us.  How special is that?  May you feel the presence of His tender love for you today.  His peace to you.

Searching for Love

Moments with My Father ~

My Father speaks to my heart today of how much He values my love for Him.  His Word reveals to me that His eyes look down from Heaven to see the sons of men to see if they understand Him and see if there are any who seek Him.  This passage speaks to me that He so wants to be found and loved. He desires the love of all of our hearts, souls and minds!  He desires to be known by us, so much so, that He, who is Spirit, left His heavenly home to become a man to live among us that we might know Him.  Jesus showed us the Father by the Father embodied in Him!  Talk about going to great lengths to relate and develop a relationship with someone!  As a result of Him leaving His heavenly home, we don’t have to look or seek far to find Him because now as believers (those who understand Him and His gift of love to us), He is always with us – His Spirit is in our hearts! The fact that my Father loves me personally, is always thinking about me and desires my love back just draws me to Him today.  How precious to know He is with me in Spirit and walking with me through this day.  He is my constant companion, always with me, always listening, always talking with me, always loving me, always helping me.  He is committed to me and promises never to forsake me.  How precious is that!  Oh how my heart beats with the presence of the love, peace and joy of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords today.  I am so glad that all of us saints can journey through life together, sharing in His love for each of us and through each other.  It just summarizes a blessed life right here on earth and it all just makes me smile!  Much love to you all.  Enjoy God with us!

Unending Faith

Moments with My Father ~

Never say never!  That is the message that my Father has given to me this morning as I study His Word and some examples set by saints of old that had this very mindset.  These saints modeled persistence in prayer and faith in that though they had prayed over and over and over again about the same issues, they never gave up and ultimately they were blessed for their faithfulness.  There was Hannah who prayed year after year for a son from her barren womb, Job who continued to talk to God about his difficult life situation until an outcome was realized that left him more blessed than he was before, Jacob who wrestled with God and would not let go of Him until He had received His blessing and Jesus told the story of the persistent widow who continually presented her plea for justice before a judge and ultimately received His justice.  As I look at these saints, I see that though they lived with trials for quite some time, their lives brought glory to our Father because of their faith that never gave up.  Their faith was not shallow faith that prayed a time or two and then gave up on God because they didn’t see results right away.  I say to these saints “What a way to be!”  They rocked!  These were saints that trusted God was capable to bring the victory in their life situations and in Him, they never lost hope.  They believed in the Lord’s unfailing love that it would not fail or give up on them.  Jesus promises that He will reward each person for what they do for Him.  Our Father has perfect timing and His presence with us as we wait upon Him will do for us just as He did for the saints of old.  Our Father gave them strength to walk and not faint, to run in the call on their lives to persevere so they did not give up from being weary and He brought blessing upon their lives.  They rose above defeat and rode the air of perseverance, soaring to the great heights of glory just like eagles.  In whatever lingering trials we might face as saints, I say let’s keep going!  It speaks volumes to the world around us of the difference in a life that faith can make and our Father is not unjust.  He will not forget the love we have shown Him in trust that never gives up. I’m a gal that is trusting and hoping with you and keeping going in the difficult parts of life as I so want to bring my Father glory.  Oh that thought just puts a song of peace and joy in my heart that lifts me up as I soar out into this day!  I’m proud of ya all for persevering for our Father as we await His good plan to unfold.  You rock!  Enjoy the gift of this day!

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

Moments with My Father ~

As I reflect upon my Father’s Word this morning, I am so grateful to my Father for His kindness and faithfulness to us as His kids.  I read this morning that He, as our Sovereign God, made the heavens and the earth by His great power and outstretched arm.  Nothing is too hard for Him and I’m a gal saying “Amen!”  Wow!  When you look at God’s creation, I have no doubt God is able and powerful! Time after time in my Christian walk, there have been times when I was in the midst of being at the end of myself and difficult matters, or as the saying goes, “between a rock and a hard place” meaning in the middle of a situation offering at least two possibilities, neither of which is acceptable in that the situation is not acceptable and I am powerless to fix it.  It is in those times, I have learned to turn to my Father, the great “Rock” with whom there is great possibility and trust He can do things like no other.  All things are possible for Him!  I am reminded of the story of Sarah who laughed at the possibility of her having her own child as she thought she was past childbearing years.  Little did she know that in the eyes of eternity, she was yet a spring chick and very capable in God’s perfect timing and with God’s help of hatching out a son!  God knew His abilities and was rather taken back by Sarah’s disbelief in His abilities.  He did what was in her eyes, the impossible and surprised her with a son just as He had promised to Abraham.  God does keep His promises and we all can find peace in knowing that when situations seem impossible for us, we are in reality between “the Rock (God)” and the hard place of life and He promises that we can cast our anxiety on Him and that He cares for us and will work good through the difficult situtation we are in the midst of.  Time and time again, He razzle dazzles me with His power, His ability and His faithfulness to take care of me.  Therefore, I’m gonna stand content and at peace between my Rock and any hard places of life I find myself in today!  Oh, my Father – He’s so cool! He so rocks, just like this song says:

Not Shaken

Moments with My Father ~

It’s a new gift of a day for us all!  Life is always happening for us, with each new day full of new opportunities to join our Father in carrying out our purposes in life.  How fun is that!   Sometimes in the process of life, though, there can be lots of surprises in what we have expected for a given day that can sometimes leave a person feeling rather shaken.  The term “shaken” can be defined as having “jerky” or irregular movement and it can also be defined as someone being disturbed emotionally.   I chuckle as I read and ponder that.  Do I see any raised hands out there of others that have experienced days like this?  Do you ever find yourself in the midst of a “jerky” day, defined as having unexpected pushes, pulls or twists about it?  I think that is just life for all of us!  Woohoo!  Life is a delightful adventure, but sometimes it can leave a person feeling rather “shaken” or disturbed emotionally. Yikes!   My Father reminds me this morning that in those times, the solution is to keep Him always before us and remember that He has us by the right hand and because of that we need not be shaken. He is not shaken by what happens in life and He is our steady!  So glad!  When we start feeling “shaken,” if we can just take a moment and turn our eyes off of the world around us and focus on our Father and tell Him we trust that He has us by the right hand, guiding us, then we can leave the moment with peace and steadiness to re-enter the world and work for victory!  I have just spent time focusing on my Father and I’m ready to face this day.  How about you?  Are you ready to dive in to the gift of today?  Let’s do so enjoying our Father’s presence with us – the greatest goal in life!  Ready, Set, Go! Gone….

Always There

Moments with My Father ~

One of the things that I love about my Father is that He is always there.  When I wake up in the morning, there is always so many things on my mind – things that I thought about as I was falling asleep, things I thought about when I woke up in the night and things that entered my mind when I awake for the new day.  It is always great for me to be able to talk with my Father about those things no matter when.  24/7, He is there for me to share my heart with. This is all part of the privilege of having the presence of Heaven on earth for us.  I guess I can relate to how Jesus is the same way and our Father’s love letter to us (the Bible) tells us Jesus lives to talk to our Father on our behalf. Jesus, I so love His heart! Doesn’t it make you feel loved to know that Jesus loves us and cares about us enough to talk to His Father about us?  It also blesses my heart to know Jesus cares enough about me to give me His written Word to help me and encourage me.  He hasn’t left me to myself.  Oh, how precious is His presence to me! So glad He is always there for me!  I can see in myself that I desire to love others the same way Jesus loves me.  My heart so longs to see others happy and at peace! May we all enjoy the loving presence of our Father today together!  Life is so good with Him here!

Antidote to Worry

Moments with My Father ~

One of the things I love about spending time with my Father each morning is the opportunity it gives to me to share with Him what is troubling my heart – the things that tend to worry me in life.  It is a time that I can ask Him for wisdom as to if there is something I can do to help a situation I am concerned about, but it is also a time of releasing into His hands the things that He shows me only He can help resolve or is best for Him to resolve.  It is good to identify what is our responsibility and what is His. When I let Him do His work and not try to do it myself, it allows me peace of mind that transcends all understanding and guards my heart and mind if I leave it in His hands and not take it back into mine! But yikes when I take things back that belong to Him!  That makes for a real peace robber!  Our Father is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work in us and around us.  He has the grand plan beyond our understanding and He rocks at His job!  I have to chuckle as He reminds me that He is qualified!  I’m telling myself, duh, have some faith, girl!  It is easy for us to get confused – chaos and confusion are among the Devil’s great tactics that he uses against us.  Anxiety and prayer are two opposing forces in our Christian lives.  They both have power over us, one good and one not good! Prayer is a good thing!  Along with prayer or requests to our Father in circumstances that can trouble us, thanksgiving is another element that can bring with it a mindset that helps us to have peace as it shifts our mind from dwelling on our problems in life to what is right in life.  Paul was a pretty smart cookie and he sets a good example to us that we can all learn from and do well in imitating him.  He understood the influence of our thoughts on our lives and he encourages us to think on what is true, what is noble, what is right, what is pure, what is lovely, what is admirable and if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, he says to think about these things and be thankful for them!  Our minds are a battlefield.  God is a God of peace and our enemy the Devil just loves to rob us of hope and peace in our Father. He so longs to have the battle victory!   Yikes again!!!  Prayer, thanksgiving and counting life blessings smack him right where needed to send him fleeing from us!  I say let’s fight to win by doing just these things, saints!  I ain’t giving in to the enemy, are you? Peace to ya’s!

Sharing Your Heart

Moments with My Father ~

God’s Word.  It is the sharing of our Father’s heart that says He cares about us and He has gone to great lengths to communicate that to us.  He so longs to see us at peace in life, rejoicing in Him.  He longs for us to remember that He is near to us.  This is why He tells us not to be anxious about anything, but in everything to share our heart with Him in prayer and requesting His help, being thankful that He will help us in the very best way.  Oh, our Father - He gives me so much peace and I am so thankful that I have Him in my life.  What a true friend He is to us all the time!  Enjoying the gift of Him in our lives with you all ~

Php 4:4-7

Drawn

Moments with My Father ~

As my Father drew me to Himself this day, I chuckle as I read His Word and see that I’m not the first one to understand how awesome Jesus is!  Yesterday, I studied about a leprous man who was drawn to Jesus for healing and after receiving Jesus’ mercy on him, Jesus asked him to not tell anyone, but to go and show himself to the priest and offer a sacrifice for his cleansing as a testimony to them, but the man did not listen to Jesus.  Just like with all sin, there are consequences and in this case, it made it so that Jesus could not enter a town openly but instead He stayed outside in lonely places.  Jesus told the man not to tell anyone about his healing because Jesus had to be careful with timing – too much fame too soon could create some problems in carrying out His mission and that is what happened.  Even though Jesus had to be more secluded from public, the people still came to Him from everywhere.  You might say that Jesus had and still has what draws the human heart!  His unfailing love, mercy, forgiveness, power, Words of wisdom and hope that brings peace and help to a struggling soul is something the world just cannot provide and people from all over the world who are discovering Him just can’t get enough of Him. They are always drawn to Him!  Now that Jesus’ mission to go to the cross as a sacrifice for the sin of all people has been accomplished, He desires us to tell others about Him and if we who know of Him want to really bless someone around us, the greatest gift we can give to them, the kindest deed that can be done for them is to tell them about Jesus.  Their souls will be forever blessed!  Let’s not keep the best thing going to ourselves.  Oh, I so hope that you experience fully the gift of Him in your life wherever you are today!  Seek Him out – you will be so glad that you did!  Much love to you all ~

Teachable?

Moments with My Father~

I heard a commercial some time back that the best part of waking up is Folgers coffee in your cup.  While I do enjoy a good cup of coffee, I have found the best part of waking up for me is spending time with my Father in prayer and in learning from His Word.  He has shown me His heart this morning that He loves us with a love that is beyond our imagination.  He demonstrated His love for us in that He laid down His life for us when He came to earth to die on the cross to cover our sins. In addition to that, He has given us His Word to help guide us through life so that we can have the best life possible.  In order to receive the blessing of it, though, we as His children need to be willing to be teachable.  He tells us to “apply our hearts to what He teaches.”  It so blesses His heart when we take His Word to heart and be willing to share them with others as well so that we can all trust in Him and have His peace and success in life – His very best and heart of love for us!  His Word speaks of there being people who are always learning, but missing the boat so to speak, in that they don’t learn the Truth.  So I ask you as I ask myself “Am I teachable?”  “Am I willing to apply my heart to what He teaches?”  Oh, I so want His best in life.  How about you?  I’m stepping out with a teachable heart today and seeking His godly counsel for my life above all other.  Our Father is the best part of all of life!  His blessings to you all!

The Drinking Fountain

Moments with My Father ~

Spending time with my Father this morning reminds me of being a kid and going to a drinking fountain and drinking in the clean, cool refreshing water that leaped up until my physical thirst was satisfied and then walking away fully refreshed and relieved of my thirst.  What a wonderful feeling it was back then to have that water fountain experience and how awesome it is today as my Father’s Spirit, His living water in me bubbles up, keeping me fully refreshed in life.  Jesus understood this and when He was on earth, He told others “if anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.   Whoever believes in me as Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”  He also told the Samaritan woman at the well that people who drank from the well she drew water from would get thirsty again, but those who drank the water He gave to them would never thirst.  He said the water He gave to them would become in them a spring of water, welling up to eternal life.”  Nothing in life can refresh someone like the Spirit of Jesus within you.  He provides the abundant life!  Taking the time for prayer and listening to His Word each day is like going to a spiritual drinking fountain where His Spirit will leap up to refresh you as His kid in life.  After drinking in of His Spirit today, I say “Ahhhh!  Oh, our Father – He is so good!”  I’m His kid stepping out into this day refreshed by His living water in me.  Here is a song that conveys my heart this morning if you’d like to drink it in:

Our Father of Humility and Grace

Moments with My Father ~

Oh, how our Father loves us and desires our love in return.  So much so, that He is a God of humility and grace and is one that recognizes the importance of communication in His relationship with His people. I have heard it said that communication is to a relationship what oxygen is to the body – it is vital to healthy relationships.  Our Father desires to communicate with us and He desires we communicate with Him.  Our Father’s Word says if we confess our sins to our Father when we have sinned against Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.  If we don’t have that communication or acknowledgement with Him, it affects our relationship with Him.  If only one person extends humility and grace in a relationship, the relationship is not healthy.  Our God is a God who loves us and desires a heart of unity with His people. I so admire that and I so want to be just like Him, not only in my relationship with my Father, but with all people.  To be humble in owning our sin and to forgive as we have been forgiven is a beautiful thing. I’m all about having a beautiful life. I’m stepping out with a heart of grace today.  I pray His grace and peace to you all today as well.  Jesus loves us and showed great humility in order to have a relationship with us when He came to this earth and died on a cross for our sins to give us a relationship with our Father – now how cool is that?  Here is an awesome song that says just that:

Got Connection?

Moments with My Father ~

Oh, as this gal steps out into life this day and thinks of the various things I have opportunity to do and all the people I will be able to interact with, my mind can take off in all kinds of thoughts.  As I am sure it is true for all of us, there are parts of our lives that we can be very excited about and want to take off running faster towards than we can go and perhaps in directions not the best or not yet, there are probably areas where we are frustrated about – things that we want to see fixed in our own ways and in our own timing and perhaps there are things we want that we do not have but want to have.  The message our Father reminds me of as my mind wildly races over all these thoughts is that success in stepping out into life is all about having the right connection.  It isn’t who I know or even what I am capable of doing in life that will bring me success in living this day to my Father’s glory and in bearing fruit for Him in this world.   My Father reminds me the connection I need, the secret to success is to be fully connected to Him!  He is the vine and we are the branches and apart from Him, we can do nothing.  Paul understood this and he also understood how to go through life with peace and contentment with all the many things before him and around him and in all that his mind could take it and think about.  Paul understood that the secret he needed in life was the strength or connection that Jesus offered to him.  So as I step out into this day and think about all that is before me and what I have to offer the world and I think about what connection I have for success in life, I am resting and trusting and seeking to stay as close to my Father as I can.   In so doing, I know it’s going to be a great successful day!  I hope you have a great day, too. Whatcha got to give to the world?  Got connection?  Got Jesus?

Have Peace and Go

Moments with My Father ~

New day greetings dear brothers and sisters. I hope you all are well and have a peaceful heart today.  Our Father who loves us beyond what we can imagine greatly desires that we have hearts at peace.  This was His heart for Joshua also as He called Joshua to carry out His plan for him in the world of leading the Israelites to take possession of the land that He was wanting to give to them.  Our Father longed to bless the Israelites and just like them, He longs to bless us and take us to a new land as well.  Some day there will be a new heaven and a new earth that we will all enjoy – a gift from our Father!  Our Father understood the hearts of the Israelites.  He knew their nature to worry and He was always telling them to go and “Do not be afraid or terrified; do not be discouraged.” He told Joshua the same thing and that He would be with Him wherever he went.  Wow!  What a comfort that is to know my Father is with me wherever I might wander!  We do not have the knowledge that our Father has and so therefore, we do not always understand the outcome to things that we are experiencing.  But, our Father does understand.  He knows why we are where we are and where we are going and He promises that He is always working good in all things for those who are called according to His purpose and He says to trust Him and go.  He desires that we keep going in life as He calls us to and He tells us the trouble that we might see in our world as we do is not something for us to be afraid of, but to have His very special peace that only He can give our hearts.  So let’s take hold of our hearts and direct them to trust in Him as He says “Take Heart!”  Our Father is very capable of taking care of us so we need not worry about that.  He has overcome this world!   It helps me to remember that He makes the clouds His chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.  Yeehaw!  He is the ultimate cowboy!!!  With Him, all things are possible! Hence, why fret when we can rest in His promises, knowing we are in His care and His loving plans to bring us blessing. Fretting is kind of like rockin’ in a rockin’ chair – it takes lots of our effort, but it doesn’t get us anywhere, except worn out and tired.  It is better to just pray about a situation, give it to our Father and trust Him with it.  With all of this in mind, I’m stepping out in trust in Him and in obedience to our Father’s request to go.  I’m going in His peace, will ya go with me?   His peace to you!

Merry Christmas everyone!  How blessed we are, for it was written and prophesied of this day:

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given and the government will be upon His shoulders and He will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace.”  Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end.  He will reign  on David’s throne and over his Kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty has accomplished this!  He has delivered to us a Savior  to rescue us from our sins and give us peace from the war of sin and death.   He is the King of Kings and He reigns over us now and forever more!  We are in His hands.  He humbled Himself and became poor by leaving the riches of heaven and coming into this world to be our Savior that we as His children could receive His Christmas gift – an inheritance into His eternal Kingdom to dwell with Him forever.  Hallelujah! What a Savior!  Let’s worship Him together.  I share this worship song with you this morning and once again Merry Christmas!  Much love to you all ~

Our Prince of Peace

Moments with My Father ~

Peace to you all this morning!  Christmas is almost here!  It is a joyous time of celebrating the birth of Jesus also called “Wonderful Counselor,”  ”Mighty God,” “Everlasting Father,” and “Prince of Peace.”  What good news the gift of Jesus is in our lives, but sometimes at Christmas, people receive bad news and people find themselves struggling to have peace as a result.  Our Father’s Word speaks to my heart this morning that He truly is our Prince of Peace.  He says that He will keep in “perfect peace” the person whose mind is steadfast because they trust in Him.  Given this, I encourage you that if you are struggling with peace, take time for intimacy with our Father.  He longs to give each us His love, His reassurance, His wisdom, His hope, His peace and apart from hearing His Word gently spoken to us and us sharing our heart with Him and resting in Him to help us, we will not have peace. The world will not give that to us.  Oh, our Father loves us so much.  He pursues us with His unfailing love if we will just give Him our time.  He just makes me feel like one blessed and loved cowgirl!  May you know His peace this Christmas as well.

The Greatest Gift

Moments with My Father ~

Woohoo!  I’m counting down the days ’til Christmas morning with ya’ll.  I feel like a kid at Christmas this morning, probably because I am – my Father’s kid!  As I think back on my Christmas anticipation as a child, I remember how we as kids used to think.  We usually had a pretty good count on all the packages that were under the Christmas tree with a label that read to us and we really got excited if the biggest present under the tree had our name on it.  I chuckle as I envision a small child discovering that and jumping up and down with excitement!  The hardest part was waiting until it could be opened and the secret within laid open!  Well, as my Father’s child, I’m all excited today and jumping up and down because the greatest gift ever given has my name on it and not just mine.  Each one of you has been given the greatest gift ever as well.  It is the gift of Jesus as our own personal Savior from sin and death and great shepherd or best friend in our lives.   He came into our lives not packaged up beautifully.  He had no beauty or majesty about Him to attract us to Him.  He was wrapped in cloths – nothing about His appearance that we would desire Him, but wow, what was on the inside was indescribable awesome!  How cool is it that we have each been given the very best friend anyone could ever have for all of our eternal life?  The gift of Him to us is just full of unfailing love and grace, hope, peace and joy and all of His goodness.  As a small child finds great joy in receiving a gift they have been longing for, each one of us has a heart that longs for His unfailing love – the gift of Him in our lives.  Having now received the gift of Him in my life just has me smiling from ear to ear!  It is sweet to my soul!  We’re talking blessed cowgirl here!  I’m definitely having a Merry Christmas because the greatest gift given has my name on it!  I hope you enjoy your gift of Him as well and that you have yourself a merry little Christmas wherever you are!  All His best to ya ~
