Update Vegas

We made it through Vegas one more time!  To recap all that happened
would be a ridiculous attempt, so I will hit some highlights.  First
off, you should know that over the past five years, we have gone from a
team of 5 people reaching a couple hundred people to a team of over
twenty people reaching thousands.  I have never considered numbers to be
the basis for evaluating success, but in this case, I consider it a
great encouragement.  We not only have a team of committed laborers but
a body (Family) of believers that are very diverse in their
personalities and giftings yet fully surrendered to each other and the
Lords work.  Diversity often causes division, but in this case, each
member has accepted their individual roles and as far as I can see,
there has been no competition among the family.  At the end of the day,
we have each been pored out and the Father is glorified.  No individual
is receiving the praise, only Jesus.  Throughout the week we had people
handing out thousands of tract, people holding bible studies for PBR
staff, wives of riders, bull riders, stock contractors and market place
workers.  We had a booth that distributed hundreds of bible, tracts and
offered prayer to anyone in need.   And of course, we had the two
services that were both used mightily of the Lord to minister to
hundreds of people.  My role in all of this was daily devoted to
individual encouragement to the riders as they each fought the grueling
battle of competition and the pressure of Las Vegas.  I have continued
to provide the opening prayer at each of the events and it has been an
ongoing indication of how God is using this sport to change a culture.
In hindsight I can remember all the battles but what I can now see is
the victories.  So many times we approach life and ministry as a
playground when it is more like a war zone.  The battles are intense and
ongoing but what a joy to be fighting for something worth fighting for.
Fight the good fight of faith!
