I am home from Mexico and have a whole new appreciation for that culture. Although I didn't know what to expect, I am certain that I did not expect what I saw. Although the city we were in was much less clean and financially prosperous than a US city, it was filled with hard working, hospitable people. What I learned while I was there, is that the state we were in was the one who was the most influenced and conformed to the US. Our influence was obvious in ways such as their modern road system and shopping malls. They even had a Wal-Mart. It was also obvious in seeing the hustle and bustle of the city and the state wide divorce rate of nearly 50%. The country itself is somewhere around 95% Catholic, most of which are inactive. What God showed me while we were there is if we can have that type of influence on all these other areas then we will have the same on them spiritually. While there, we had police escorts everywhere we went and police lined barricades to get from the busses to the buildings. The Governor himself had a party for us at the governors' mansion and expressed his sincere appreciation for us honoring his country with our presence. The response of the crowd at the event was the best we have ever experienced, sometimes deafening applause. All of this preferential treatment was based on the fact that we were the worlds best bull riders. As far as I am concerned, next year it will be all about the fact that many of them are true men of God. We have met with people while there who have pledged their support of doing a city wide outreach to the men. We will use the riders to do the ministering. The power of influence and the power of an image combined with the power of the Holy Spirit will be a site to behold. We will show a whole new image of manliness that is Christ-like and by the grace of God we will see the men of that culture rise up to lead their homes and families in a Godly manor. About thirty of the men of the PBR prayed in agreement for this to happen and I will ask you to agree with us. In the name of Jesus, Todd and Leslie
