Omaha

Omaha was another great celebration of how our Father uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and how in our weakness we are made strong.   This last weekend we as a ministry had multiple opportunities to see this principle in operation. It is not a rare thing for me to feel inadequate to fulfill this calling on my life and I am the first to acknowledge that it is only by God’s grace that I am able to see lives changed around us. But this last weekend I felt about as anointed as a fence post and was physically run down. To make matters worse, my side kick Brooks, who is always up and walking in joy and peace was also in the midst of a personal storm and time of feeling disoriented. Well, feelings come and go but God’s goodness and mercy are new every day and He promised he would never forsake us. I would rank this past weekend among one of the greatest demonstrations of what our Father desires to do among his people. We had a great turnout at the PBR worship service and saw people get born again and delivered from generations of lies and deceptions. Kody Lostroh gave a powerful word on how we can be transformed by truth and how the knowledge of truth gives us the authority to squish the head of the enemy who is a deceiver. One woman in particular had been deceived her entire life about what God wanted from her and how he saw her. She reminded me how powerful the gospel message is to those having never heard the truth. God loves you and offers a great plan for your life. Powerful!

Sunday morning Brooks, Stephanie, Mike Lee and I went to minister at the Omaha Vineyard Church. Mike made me proud to call him my friend as he declared in a spirit of humility how we each carry a tremendous power of influence. He reminded us of how who we are affects the lives of everyone around us. He has matured so much as a man of God and amazes me with his continual willingness to share his life with others. Brooks wasn’t even going to sing that morning because he was in a place where he didn’t feel like he could. But by the end of the service he came up front and shared his heart through tears and ministered with his gift of worship. He is more that a gifted musician he is a true worshiper. As people began to come forward for prayer and other around the room began to pray for one another I had one of those moments where I became overwhelmed with emotion over how good God is. I watched as Stephanie used her unique gift of love to minister to a stranger as though they had known each other their whole lives and saw Mike show his grace as he kneeled to pray with others. I am surrounded with such Spirit filled lovers of people and it is an honor to serve with them.
From there we jumped in Brook’s plane and he flew us to Burwell Nebraska where we got to harvest crops we did not plant. We saw this little town come out in force and welcome us as royalty. That night in this town of twelve hundred we had two hundred men woman and children hear the gospel. I was amazed to see every hand in the building go up as they responded with joy to the invitation to present themselves as living sacrifices to the service of our King. They are expecting and insisting on seeing their community rise up and be healed. How sweet it is!
This week Leslie and I are headed to Albuquerque. Thank you for supporting this work with your love and encouragement.

In his service,

Todd and Leslie
