Nampa

So much to say, so little time. Nampa, ID. PBR was a blast. It kind of seemed like a week off because things happened so naturally. I look forward to the day that I am in that spot more frequently. I have often taught that the life of a believer who is bearing fruit that lasts is like that of a fruit tree. The natural consequence of a healthy branch of a healthy tree is fruit. An apple tree doesn’t grunt and groan to try and squeeze out an apple. It simply produces fruit as a result of being healthy and being what it was created to be. For us, we must recognize that we were created to be the recipients of God’s love. When we are in an abiding love relationship with our Father, the consequence is fruit. Love, Joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and so on. Man I desire to keep it that simple. The knowledge that I am the beloved son of God and nothing can separate me from that love should be enough. When I remain in that type of Father/Son relationship I will bear fruit. Ministry will happen. The world around me will change.
Wow! Got in to preacher mode there for a minute. I guess the other reason it seemed to be a week off is because I didn’t even show up to the outreach service that weekend, I went to Colton and Tanner’s wrestling tournament that happened to be in the same vicinity. Colton got a third and Tanner got a second. People got saved at the service and lives were changed. I love the fact that I can fail to show up and the work of the ministry still takes place.
Leslie and Stephanie Brewer went from there back to the house and had a mini woman’s retreat for some of the bull rider’s wives and other woman. Colton, Brooks and I headed to the mountains with ten other men to be a guest at Dave and Julie Oerkie’s private cabins that are located in a remote part of the Idaho wilderness. The ladies did things like have a tea party and went to the spa and loved on each other the way that only woman can do and we men went to the hills. I won’t get started, but I do love the distinctions between men and woman and where they desire to go to get rejuvenated. At the end of four days in the Idaho wilderness area we each had our own personal revelations given to us from our Father and we as a group drew closer to each other. We even got to pack some battle wounds out of the hills as many of us had some mishaps. Even little Colton is still sore from a wrestling match he got in with one of the bull riders. I got bucked off, Mike Lee fell off. And each of the others got no less than sore from various mishaps. Man I love this adventure.   Most importantly, the ladies and the men got together in the name of Jesus and showed our love for the Father by loving each other.
Wednesday morning Leslie and I will head to Dallas for a few days to be a part of the “Forever Cowboys” Conference. We expect great things as hundreds of Christian cowboys will be there with the intention of unifying our efforts to more effectively live out the Kingdom. We will be filming many hours of testimonials and teachings from contestants and affiliated pastors. These materials will be provided to the thousands of cowboy churches and rodeo ministries that are out there. The boys are going various directions while Les and I are gone. Thank you all for staying with us on this mighty work of the Lord.

In the service of the King,

Todd and Leslie
