As many of you know, Tanner went with me to Columbus for the five days. What a treat! I know that the vision of this ministry truly comes to life when I see the impact it has on my son. He has come to view Christian men as strong, passionate, sincere and gentle. It is a far cry different then what most people in our culture view Christian men to be. See, I believe that if we are to impact this culture then we must present a visible picture of what it means to be Christ-like. Paul said to follow me as I follow Christ. Most men form there lives after either a conscious or sub-conscious picture of what they perceive a true man to be. What will happen ? I wish I could be more specific but to protect the men who have trusted the details of their life to me I will have to be quite vague. Non the less, these are stories of men who's success have elevated them to the status of heroes and living legends. One such man hit the bottom emotionally this weekend and the Lord had placed me in the right place at the right time to meet him there. We had a time of sincere heart to heart discussion about his life and the emptiness of it. He reminded me of a conversation we had about a year ago and how he was not ready to surrender his life to the Lord but he was now ready. He asked me to call him weekly as well as disciple him during the events. Pray for him and this commitment. It has taken a year and a lot of hurting but the lord gave the increase to the seed sown. Another man has spent his entire career riding for his own glory and now he has surrendered his life to Jesus and has lost the motivation to ride. That is all fine if God has taken that desire from him but it is wrong if God has placed him there for a reason. This brings me to a dilemma that I will ask for your prayer about. Should vein motives stir more passion in us then pure motives? The answer must be no, but why does the emotion of desire not line up with it? I have been instructing this and other men that if they could get a hold of the fact that our ministry and occupation are not two different things, and that riding bulls or anything else we do can have eternal value. The greatest motivation in life should be to use our gifts to bring glory to our Father. For those of you who continue to pray for us. Thank you. Todd
