A Note from Doug

This note is from Doug Wright. I'm one of the prayer team members for Riding High Ministry and also sit on the board of directors for the same.

I have known Todd and Leslie since 1994. I have watched as their role in life went from just married to parents of three. What I'd like to share is some observations of this couple with a taste of this last weekend thrown in.

A man is only as good as his better half. Leslie is definitely Todd's better half. Leslie is not only a woman who raises boys, she is also a good hostess, cook, exercise expert, gardener, friend to many and most important she sets a fine example of how a woman should support her husband even in tough times. Tough times can be defined many different ways. Leslie has pretty much seen them all. She is a wonderful gal and I consider myself fortunate to call her "friend."

Todd is one of those cowboys who will put it all on the line. When he is called to a task he doesn't shrink from duty. This attribute is tough on Todd as he sacrifices self to pour into not only PBR riders, but friends as well. Todd is one of the most valued friends to many of us. Todd is a valued friend minutes after people meet him.

Greg Scandrett and I traveled to Sacramento. We stayed at the Coomler's home in Grass Valley. We had a meal fit for a king. After dinner we had a worship time that was capped with prayer. The Holy Spirit was present and the interaction of the individuals in the worship time was healing and supportive. The next day we boarded a vehicle and it was off to Fresno for a one night event. In Fresno, prior to the PBR event, we handed out PBRO Tracts that have the message of Jesus in them. I had not seen the tract before however it is a wonderful pamphlet about PBR riders and the message of salvation. The tract was accepted by literally everyone it was offered to. Thousands of hands carried the message of Jesus through the stadium. As I walked around the stadium I watched to see how many had been discarded. I noticed few compared to the thousands passed out. Thousands of seeds were planted by the helpful hands of Gods faithful servants. I wonder how many of those will be passed again to someone else?

Next stop was back to Sacramento. There was a repeat of handing out the tracts only this time there was a notice inserted that told of the Cowboy Church that would be held on Sunday in the arena. I had one woman ask what the pamphlet was about. I said it was about PBR riders and how they wanted to share the story of Jesus with others. She said "no thanks, I'm not a Christian" and she handed it back. On the heals of this however I handed one to a young man who asked what it was and I told him the same thing. He said great, will you please give one to each of my friends. This same man was at church the next day. During the Sunday Cowboy Church Corey Navarre gave his testimony. Todd gave a brief message about how each one us needs Jesus and how we are loved by God. I notice a very tall large cowboy with his young son. At the end of the service the man and his son found their way over to Todd and a cowboy. The youngster accepted Jesus into his heart while tears of joy streamed down his fathers face.

What a perfect picture of what it is all about. One soul at a time or thousands, it doesn't matter because all eternity will hold another and hell will lose a potential resident.

I have watched this ministry from the early stages to what it is today. The message is still simple and clear. The material used is getting professional and the team is growing. It still boils down to the basics however.

Your Prayers

Dedicated team members and the Holy Spirit moving in the hearts and minds of those called to salvation.

A team made up of family.

In Christ,

Doug Wright
